Question:
How long did your hair loss last?

I didn't start losing hair till 5.5 months postop. I thought I might be out of the woods but then it started. Now at 6.5 months the hair loss seems to be really slowing up. One month doesn't seem too bad, or do you think there is more to come?    — sandy L. (posted on July 16, 2003)

I am six months out and have been losing hair for about 2 1/2 months now. My surgeon says that this is normal and expected and it will slow down eventually. It is different for everyone. I just hope it slows down soon. Maybe you are lucky and will not have any more hair loss. Good luck to you in your journey! got it cut in a real short (and I think sexy) modern cut and colored and highlighted it and wear it kind of spikey on top and I get compliments all the time

My hair is a mess. I've been losing it for 3 months now by the handful. When I pull what is left back in a pony tail, there are bald spots on the sides. Now for the interesting part. For the three months that I have been losing my hair, I have had FULL absorption of all my protein due to a fistula that formed between the old and new stomach. So this hair loss thing cannot be due to lack of protein. I think it is from the anesthesia. Anyway, I just had a revision surgery on June 30th and am wondering if Month 3 will bring some more hair loss for me. Why can't the hair on my face, legs, armpits and pubic area fall out instead of the hair on my head?! I think if your hair loss is slowing up you are out of the woods. Best of luck to you!
