Question:
Has anyone's shoe and ring size stayed the same?

I have read many posts about shoe and ring size going down. I am down 90 pounds and still wear the same in both. Anybody else stay the same. Need to lose about 40 more pounds would really like to keep same shoes and jewelry that way I can spend all my money on new clothes!    — sandy L. (posted on July 16, 2003)

After 30lbs, my shoe size went from a double wide to a wide, my ring size went down 2 sizes and I was able to tighten my watchband :-) At 58lbs, my ring now needs to be re-sized, as it may fall off unexpectedly.

I wonder about this too. I am down 46#, but my rings, watch, & shoes are as tight as ever. I don't mind, just thought my rings would loosen up a bit. Then again, maybe it is the hot weather?

After two surgeries (VBG in 97 and RNY in 2000), I've lost a total of 150lbs from my highest weight. My shoe size dropped from a 10 due to width and thickness of my foot to an 8 1/2 or 9. My ring sized dropped from and 8 1/2 to a 4 1/2! I also discovered that I have SCRAWNY wrists and shoulders LOL! None of this happened overnight though and you do tend to swell in the warmer months and contract in the colder ones.

Now that Ive lost about 96 lbs, my rings do fit a lot better, they were really tight before. In fact, they were so tight that they were cutting into my fingers. However, my shoe size has not changed, Im still a 9-9 1/2 depending on who makes the shoe. I still have about 50 or so pounds to go so maybe that will change. I dont think it will change that much though. Many years ago when I was 135 lbs I was in a 8 1/2-9 shoe then. Good luck!

I lost almost 140 pounds. My shoe size did not change. Went down at least 2 ring sizes, though.

Hi, Sandy! I'm not at goal yet, but I was once before (5'7" and 160 lbs, a weight loss at the time of 98 lbs). My ring size definitely changed, but not by much. Absolutely NO change in shoe size, except that shoes looked better on me (no "bread dough" puffing out of the top of my pumps!). My shoe size remained a big ole bigfoot 10!!!

I have gone from 248 on my day of surgery to 171, now. My rings are loose but wearable. I could barely move them before surgery. I switched my wedding band and engagement ring, so that the band is on the outside. It was a snugger fit and keeps the engagement ring on securely. I have another ring that is a little loose, but I can still wear it since it is summer and my hands are a little swollen with the heat. I will eventually have to get it sized, but that will be a major deal with this one. It is a very thick band with stoes, and when we bought it in Bermuda 2 years ago, it was sized and the jeweler cracked the stone doing it. e had to replace it. I think I will just have to get the band built up by someone who really knows what they are doing. As for the shoes, my size is the same, but they are a little looser. Some of my summer slides and sandals are a little loose.
