I'm not 100% sure, but it's my impression that if you have a hernia that
most ins. will cover some, if not all of a TT at the same time as the
repair.

I too had a hernia when I went in for my surgery I just didn't know it
until the doctor told me as long as he had me open he fixed right then and
there. However he did state that he could not fix it the way he normally
does because of the risk of infection. So he had to use a diffrent type of
mesh. In my opinion I would just have it fixed as long as he has you open
and on the table.why go through another surgery. Besides with the pain meds
you will hardly know he even touched the hernia.

I did not know I had a hernia - my surgeon found it while doing the gastric
bypass and fixed it.
