Question:
Multi Vitamin Options?
I am 2 weeks post op and cannot handle the chewable vitamins. All I taste is a nasty metallic taste. YUCK. Are there any liquid substitutes or any particular brands that are a little easier on sensitive taste buds? Thanks in advance... — Barbara C. (posted on April 21, 2003)

I believe Centrum has a liquid multi-vitamin. I am not sure how much sugar
is in it though. Best of luck to you.

Centrum offers a Liquid Mulit-Vitamin. However you may want to research
and see if you can find a Liquid Vitamin that is Iron Free if you are
taking additional Iron Supplements. I currently am using the regular
Centrum pills by splitting them, they dissolve quickly, however from what
information I gather, Liquid Muli-Vitamins are rapidly absorbed in the
body. Isometrix also provides several forms of liquid vitamins as well.

Hi~ I had Open-Rny on 3-27-03, and have been taking the Liquid Centrum. I
also tried the chewables and the chalky taste was terrible. The centrum is
not to bad, 1 tablespoon daily. Iron-9mg, sugars-5g. I've had no problem
with it. Wal-mart has it. 8oz. bottle for around $9.00. This is what my
surgeon put me on in the first place.

I am 3 months out and I take prenatal capsules that I just swallow and
because they have the gelatin capsule I have had no probalems at all. It
might be a little early for you to do that but I would ask your doctor. I
also hear that some people take Nata-Chews, a prescription chewable
prenatal and many prefer it over the Centrum chewable or whatever they were
taking.

Following up from the last poster, I currently take prescription Nutrinate
chewables. They have kind of an aftertaste at first, but I've gotten used
to it. They're not too bad.

I use Liquid Health brand Multi and Calcium Citrate, Magnesium + D. Both
taste pretty good. The Calcium is orange flavored and I add it to my
protein drink in the morning. The Multi has a Wild Cherry flavor and I
just take it by itself because I don't like the way it tastes in my protein
shake. I have only been able to find it online. Do a key word search and
you should have no trouble finding it. Good luck.
