Question:
After the tuck?
I had a hernia repair this past week and elected to have a TT at the same time. I have an anchor cut from sternum to pubis and from hip to hip about 2 inches below the belly button. My belly button was not removed, but repositioned. So now I am all stapled with the exception of about a hundred tiny stitches completely around my belly button. It looks very Dr. Frankenstein, but clean. My question is this. The skin is so taught where it was pulled back. Will it loosen as the swelling goes down? I sure hope so because I feel if arched backwards I would rip everything open. Just wondered if someone else could tell me the progression of their tt recovery. I'm eating fine and moving pretty well, but I ache and take some pain pills. Thanks. — melinda R. (posted on March 31, 2003)

I am three weeks post tt and from my experience, it does get better. I am
still a bit swollen and sore, but I can at least stand up straight now! :)
I also got the anchor incision and have photos if you are interested.

I had my anchor tt in the beginning of January. Most if not all of my
swelling is gone. Unless I really arch back I'm fine and able to stand
straight up. I just have to be careful (still) when stretching. It gets
tight. Just take it easy. Gentle hugs to you.
