Question:
Can a large ab. hernia or gall stones cause excessive gas?

Having a lot of gas lately. I know that I have gall stones and a rather large hernia in lower ab area.I am going Monday for a consult for surgery, but was wondering if either of these could cause all this gas? I am 16 months post-op and have never had trouble before, just in the past couple months, and getting worse. Thanks...    — Marie A. (posted on January 31, 2003)

About 10 years ago I had my gallbladder out . . . my symptoms prior to surgery were pressure and a very bloated, gassy feeling right under my bra band. Hope that helps. Linda
