Question:
Having a Gastroscopy done on the 15th.
I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on anything to do with this procedure? Like will is hurt at all and how do you feel afterwards? Thanks Kim — Kim R. (posted on January 6, 2003)

I am not 100% sure, but I think this is the procedure that they put a tube
down your throat and take pictures. If it is I have had this before and the
only thing you will feel is a little bit of a sore throat. Hope this helps,
God Bless

Hi Kim, I had this done before my surgery and I hardly knew that they had
done it. I was laying down on my side. They put me out, but I could hear
the Dr and nurses talking like it was a dream. I had no pain at all. They
put a scope down my throat to look at my stomach and uper intestine where
it is attached to my stomach. In my case I found out that I had a healthy
stomach, and a hiatel (spelling) hernia. The hernia was just one more
reason for me to have this surgery. Anyway it was a breeze. You will be
just fine.
