Question:
When asking/answering questions here ......
I often see questions posted about what to eat,how much to eat, am I dumping, how long should it take to recover, and generally most other questions regarding new post-ops, but I rarely see the surgery type stated. I also see many answers that can be pretty different depending on the type of surgery the person had. I am wondering if everyone that answers checks the persons profile before answering to get surgery type or just responds with their own circumstances? Just wondering???? — Patricia R. good question. I usually answer based on my experience with rny. I guess
one can click my name and see my profile. It would be nice to sign it with
rny or d/s or bandster...

I generally don't check the profiles. My reading skills are poor (thanks to
a crappy public school) and I don't have the patience to scroll down
through some of the profiles that are very long. Some profiles are VERY
long. Takes to long to read them. It would be nicer if people who asked
questions would be kind enough to mention what type of surgery they have.

I belive we should all get into the habit of saying when we had surgery,
and what type...it can be dangerous to tell someone they can have this or
that....when IT IS NOT SO.
WE HAVE TO BE RESPONSIBLE.

I TRY to check the profiles or sometimes mention like I did today about
bread that lap banders generally can never eat bread. Its important to
never give dangerous answers. Many questions are anymous and those I give
the best advice possible.

Although I typically make a point to distinguish between the types of
surgery in my answer, it is the responsibility of the question asker to
list his/her surgery type and date.
