Question:
When you're on the soft-solids part of the post-op restriction...
...can you eat baby food? Have any of you done that? — [Anonymous] (posted on November 12, 2001)

I ate baby food, and still do, sometimes. (I'm now nearly 8 wks. post op.)
Baby meats saved me! I still eat strained veg (mostly because I still
have some jars left). I mix them in with spices & stuff because they
are so Bland, Bland, Bland, but otherwise they don't taste bad, and the
consistency is such that my stomach can deal with it (still can't deal with
chunks, even little ones). -- Margie B

Baby foods are ok but don't do like I did. I bought about $20 worth of the
stuff and found out it tastes like crap! I ended up giving it to a food
drive, but only buy a couple at a time and see if you like them. I thought
they were revolting! Best of luck. Amy

Hi ! Yes, you can eat babyfood. I give a list of things that I ate on my
webpage, both under the useful WLS info section, as well as in "my
personal journey", what I found I liked that worked well for me. You
can find that and a lot of other WLS tips and info at
http://www.lkdobson.homestead.com and good luck to you !!!

How many g of sugar per serving? If you can eat it and get less than 4-5g
in your serving, go for it. The main thing with baby foods, ei milk (even
skim), prepared foods, is that they are designed to put weight ON a baby.
Personally, I would not.
