Hi, I believe Septic shock to be a very end stage to a whole process.
Septic shock is very serious and often fatal but there are always those few
cases that are the exceptions to the rules. Time is a big factor and also
the causative organism. Best advise report anything indicating infection
with haste. Best of luck Michelle

I survived septic shock, and it was the most terrifying thing I have ever
been through. I had an infection of unknown origin and by the time I got to
the doctor was in the early stages of shock. I was running fevers so high
my limbs went numb, I was panting, and had the most excrutiating headache
ever. My whole body ached. By the time they tried to run some tests to
figure out what kind of bacteria was causing the trouble, I was spiraling
downward. It is very rapid. The next few days were a blur, but the doctors
just flooded my system with 6 different broad spectrum antibiotics hoping
that one would work. Luckily for me, one did. We never knew what caused it,
or which medication stopped it, because I was on antibiotics before the
agent was identified. Everything happened so fast! Scary, but I am gald to
be here to tell the tale. In case anyone is freaking out, this was 9 years
ago and completely unrelated to my WLS.

My husband did not survive septic shock. He passed away Aug,17,2004. I have
so many questions, with so little answers. Like where did it come from, and
why. If you know any thing that could help me, please let me know. There,s
more to the story, so mabey if I could tell you all I know you could help
