Question:
Anyone know of a plastic surgeon in Washington, D.C. area?

I am looking for a plastic surgeon familiar with patients that have had WLS in the Washington D.C. area for a consultation. Perferably one that is willing to work with your insurance (AETNA PPO).    — abran (posted on August 16, 2001)

Here is someone who is close to DC - her name is Carol Shapiro. She's a wonderful plastic surgeon and I highly recommend her. She's been our plastic surgeon since one of my kids fell and needed surgery years ago. Dr. Shapiro has spoken at our WLS support meeting and is knowledgeable and sensitive to wls needs. In another year I plan to have her do my TT if I need it! She has 2 offices depending on where you live and which road you want to travel. She is in Manassas at 703-361-2628 - that's good if you do Rt 66. Her Woodbridge office is 703-494-1163. That location works well for Rt. 95. Good luck!

08/17/01 - Dr.Joseph Afram 202-659-0240. He does everything related to WLS patients, and has a wonderful bedside manner. Not bad on the eyes either. I saw him today and lost 34 lbs. so far. Surgery date 7/24/01.
