Question:
Are antibiotics a problem 2 weeks prior to surgery?

I have an ear infection and may need to take antibiotics, but my surgery is two weeks away. Would taking antibiotics cause any problems during or after surgery?    — knfranklin (posted on June 28, 2001)

Talk w/ your surgeon. It may not be a problem.. but if its a strong one that compromises your immune system might not be so hot. Good luck.

My dr. as given me the strongest oral antibiotic pill available to take one week prior to surgery plus i will have iv antibiotics directly after to keep infections away. This should not affect your surgery date and may even be of help to you as long as the ear infection is cleared up by then.

It should be fine. I had a sinus infection 2 weeks before my surgery and they put me on antibiotics. I had absolutely know complications.
