Can anyone recommend a psychotherapist in Atlanta area?

Dr. Steven Ritz is a good place to start...he is a psychiatrist that performs the psych. evaluations for Dr. Sidney Appel (surgeon). If he can't help you I'm sure he would be able to refer you to someone. Dr. Ritz also heads up our support group the last Monday of each month at the Northlake Regional Medical Center. Dr. J. Kenneth Champion of Atlanta is one of the foremost, internationally recognized bariatric surgeons specializing in laparascopic WLS. Although he does not require a psych evaluation pre-operatively, he utilizes several wonderful therapists/psychologists for his monthly support group meetings. Yes, Dr. Kathleen Grimes (Stockbridge, GA)is an excellent Therapist with expert experience in addressing WLS issues. I think you will feel very comfortable with the doctor.

Dr Stanley Chapman @ Emory University Hosp in Atlanta That is who Dr C Daniel Smith used for his Psych Eval's. Both are located at Emory on Clifton Rd....
