Question:
Cholesterol too low?
At the time of my RNY, 14 months ago, my cholesterol was 145, which is low. In October it had dropped to 107, at which point my doctor told me to increase my fat intake. I added a few more eggs, more cheese, 2% milk and more peanut butter to my diet. Now my cholesterol is down to 96. My doctor said it was obviously not caused by my diet. I was told to see a liver specialist by my doctor. Has anyone else had this problem with cholesterol being too low? There is almost nothing on this subject anywhere. What could be causing this if not my diet? — Pamela B. (posted on May 26, 2001)
