Question:
My stomach growls very loudly after I eat or drink anything. I am 3 1/2 weeks post

op from lap rny. Has anyone else experienced this? And/or, do you have any suggestions as to how to get it under control -- it can be embarrassing.    — Evonne B. (posted on May 22, 2001)

I am 3 weeks post op from lap rny and have been experiencing the same thing. When I asked my doctor about it he said that it will diminish as we get further away from the surgery date and he didn't have any suggestions as to how to control the noises. I know what you mean about embarrassing -- mine "went off" during a meeting that had about 20 people attending. Boy was my face red!! I'll be checking back to see if any post ops who are further out have any suggestions.

I had the same problem. I am now 8 weeks post-op (I had a lap DS), and the problem has pretty much disappeared. For me, the noise started to diminish at around 4-5 weeks post-op, and has continued to decrease as time goes by. My stomach still makes a little noise if I gulp a lot of water, but it's not nearly as loud as it used to be (I don't think anyone else can hear it now).
