Question:
HAS ANYONE HAD LAPOROSCOPIC REVISION ?
I am researching and have found only one. I was hoping to speak w/others who have had successful lap revisions. I had a stomach stapling in 1984 when I had my gall bladder removed. It has not had long lasting effects. I hope to have a lap revision, but I would like to see if there are other drs. out there. I have only found one in TN or GA area (DR. Champion), and although he is my fires choice, he is not doing revisions at this time. I just want to know that in case he doesn't resume soon, I might have other options. thanks/patti meadows/ 3-mail: [email protected] — peppermintp (posted on May 7, 2001)

My step father had stapling years ago and went for a revision recently.
The doctor told him that chance of having it done lap was small though not
impossible. He is 60 years old, many comorbids and lots of scarring from
the old surgery. He was also at about 435 pounds. I think the doctor said
his chances were at about 80% of having to be opened. He opted for the
open, and is doing well. Each person I think is different though. His
doctor was Dr Pomp in NYC 212-241-3699.

I had my lap RNY with Dr. Champion. It is my understanding from his office
that he will probably resume lap revisions this summer. Good luck!

I had vertical banded gastioplasty (stomach stapeling) done in 1982 and
need revision. I have appt with Dr. John Husted of Nashville, TN. He is
the only dr. in TN that does revision. Have you heard anything about him
and how many revision he has done? THanks. Janie (email:
