Hi I had a similar problem, I am 4 1/2 months post op now, but when
I was about 1-1 1/2 months post op, I did this also. I attributed it to
either my allergies I have,
I have lots of mucous, or the flu. I was slightly sick at that time.
I hope this helps? I also had my doctor give me Claritin SL(they are
allergy pills that you place under your tongue and they disolve)
email me if you need anything else. by the way, how far post op are you?

I had a problem with this when I was just post-op. My clinic explained that
at first (especially if the food is too dry) it takes a long time for the
food to leave the pouch. During that time the body will try to help move
it through by producing mucous. You try to eat again and there simply isn't
any room for next meal because the previous meal plus mucous is still
there. Don't force the eating just because it is meal time. Wait until
you are hungry and increase the moisture in your meals. It does get
better. If it does not resolve soon, give your doctor a call.

Been there, done that, and I feel for you - it is a truly
MISERABLE experience. It sounds like your stoma has
narrowed, and it can be fixed with an endoscopic dilation. Read my profile
for the full story. Best wishes to you.

The problem you are describing could be frothing. The body naturally
produces this mucous as a healing agent to your pouch. The problem is
nausea and vomiting. Try drinking some hot decaffeinated tea before you go
to bed. Then, drink another in the morning. Peppermint tea is very
soothing. You may see an improvement quite quickly if it is frothing. This
has helped me tremendously and I am fine now if I have that bedtime dose of
tea. Best Wishes!

I am 2 1/2 months post-op and mucous has made my life miserable. The
answers to the question of the problem of spitting up mucous have helped my
condition very much. Although this condition may occur randomly, I now
make sure solid food is very moist and eat smaller amounts at a time. It is
also reassuring to know that this condition will go away with time. Thanks.
