Why can companies exclude treatment for the
I have been very frustrated over the last few months about these exclusion policies. I work for a small business and has been told that any policy the get will have this exclusion. How can insurance companies justify excluding treatment for obesity when it has been recognized as a disease for years? My insurance company will cover treatment for other "diseases" inculding substance abuse. It just doesn't seem fair. I cannot afford to self-pay. My husband feels that my quest to have this surgery is affecting our marriage, because I am putting so much time and effort into it.
