I am looking for a Kansas surgeonwho will has perfprmed the lap. As for now my insurance requires me to stay in state to look for a surgeon. I know it is only a first step but would appreciate any info you may have!    — H S. (posted on January 31, 2001)

I am at the "considering surgery" stage and going through the referral process but I know that there is a doctor in Topeka, KS by the name of Brent Steward that does the Lap RNY. His phone number is 785-232-0444. His nurse, Maxine, has been helpful with my questions.

Almost forgot, there is also the Live Lite Program in Junction City, KS. The Drs. there are Dr. Bollman and Dr. Stevens. Their phone number is 785-762-4500. Patty Maycroft is who I spoke to there. The reason I am checking into Dr. Steward in Topeka is because he takes my insurance (Tricare Prime) and the Live Lite center doesn't.
