Question:
Any suggestions for getting more food in at 23 days post-op?
I am not getting enough food in. I feel full too soon. I am worried that I am going to become mal-nourished. I couldn't go to work today because I was so weak. I added up my intake and I'm getting about 80% of my water, but little to no protein and only about 300 calories. Any suggestions? — Perri T. (posted on January 4, 2001)

How much protein supplement are you getting in? You really don't WANT more
food on board, just more nutrition. Don't compromise your wt loss, just get
it in supplementally. It's better for your wt loss and easier on your
pouch. Also, the supplemental form is FAR more absorbable.

I had surgery on 12/28/00. I was afraid I'd have this problem so I bought
a supplement that's working well for me & tastes great! It is made by
SciFit and is called Whey complex plus. If you follow the directions and
use 16oz. of milk or soy milk, you will have 4 meals of 4 oz. and 15 grams
of protein per meal. Hope this helps.

My surgery is in approx. 2 weeks and I've stocked up on sugar-free protein
supplement (with vitamins) that I can mix with either water, milk or soy
milk. I'll mix it with whichever I tolerate best. The protein mix I have
is a Herbalife product and I got it from Sandy Winstead at 601-924-5558. I
also have prepared by getting liquid Centrum vitamins.
You didn't say anything about other problems, so I'm happy that you made it
to "the other side" with such a little tummy and apparant good
health. I'm hoping for the same outcome.
