Question:
Why is it that my stomach is still so big?
I can tell that I have lost weight, but seems like that everything else is going down, but my stomach why is this? — Antoinette P. (posted on December 20, 2000)

My doc said it would be about 3 months before the swelling in my stomach
subsided. She was just about right on the button. And I still have some
tenderness on the skin, but not painful (5 months post-op). Another
thought, I've been losing weight in the worst possible place - my
bust...this makes my stomach look like it hasn't gotten much smaller. But
then I take out the measuring tape and find out it has.

Unfortunately, rather like eye color, we can't pick our body style. As we
lose, everyting simply falls DOWN for awhile. I know, not what you wanted
to hear. I am one of those apple-bodies who had a huge belly and even when
I was down to 129#, I had to wear elastic waist pants. Today, 5 yrs after
my TT, I can wear regular clothes, but still not the pinched waist things
that a pear-body can wear. The trade off is that my legs & arms went
down nicely, too. Although I will never have a truly fabulous, ga-ga
figure, I look NORMAL now, and it's marvelous. Heck, I'm too old to be
Barbie, anyway!
