Question:
I just had revision surgery on November 8th. I am so sick.

I had my surgery on Weds. and came home on Sunday. By Tuesday I started having severe pain in ny chest, behind my left breast and under my shoulder blade. I called my doctor and got some more pain medicine. This seemed to work until Sat. the pain got so severe it felt like a knife was cutting into me. I called the dr and was told to get the the emergency room for some test. I had a cat scan, chest x-rays and blood work. NOthing showed up on these tests. They decided to keep me in the hospital for a couple days to feed me threw my veins to give my pouch time to heal. My white blood count was up so I was put on antibiotics. I stayed in the hospital from Sat until Thanksgiving day. The night before they let me come home I was running a fever of 103. It broke during the night. It was 101 when I left the hospital. It has stayed around 100 since I came home until yesterday. I started vomitting and running a fever of 102. I threw up twice yesterday and called my doctor (because that is what she told me to do if I started running a fever). She told me that I could come back to the hospital and be put back on iv's but that she did not know what is wrong with me. I decided to take tylenol and it brought my fever down for awhile. I threw up again during the night and again this morning. My fever has gone back up to 101. Can anyone tell me if this has happened to them and what I should do.    — Rhonda C. Im so I dont have an answer for you, but I do hope that you contact your surgeon soon. From what you wrote I am assuming you went to your family doctor, is that right? I read postings every day and have read many that run fevors and get sick. Sometimes it is from the stoma. Scar tissue or swelling can cause it to close some, which makes them ill. Call your surgeon who is experienced with complications from the surgery they do. Good luck to you, and please dont wait and suffer in case something easy can be done to make you feel better. Cindy
