Question:
Not a Question, but I found something for the chocolate lovers.........
Hi! I don't know if this is a new product or not....but I have been craving chocolate, esp. around that time of the month. Of course we can't touch real choc., but along came Swiss Miss, no sugar added with Splenda in it. You cannot imagine how wonderful it is!!! I tasted absolutely no difference from real hot choc! Everyone needs a treat once in a while...right? Enjoy! I know I am....YUM! — VIXYVIX (posted on October 22, 2000)

Glad to see you found Splenda. I found it about 6 months ago and love it.
It is also in DietRite soda. Just about
a month ago they started selling it at Wal-Mart. At Splenda's web site,
you can buy it in boxes and use just like sugar. It doesn't lose it's
flavor when heated.

I too am a Splenda lover. I discovered it right after my surgery thanks to
a posting on this site which has been my surgery life-line. Both my
husband and I use it daily in coffee and Koolaide. You can also cook with
it because it doesn't break down with heat. Plus there is NO Nasty
AFTERTASTE. Swiss Miss was the first product that I tried it in also. Log
Cabin Lite is also sweetened with it. Musslemans applesause has it in it
as well as a few other products that I can't think of right now. The only
grocery store in our town that carried it is closing in a week, so I was
freaking until I discovered that our Walmart started carrying it as well.

Everyone seems to love Splenda and says it tastes JUST LIKE sugar. I
bought a box of it, and tried it in various recipes, and I always get a
very bad off-taste from it. Maybe my taste buds are just weird or
something? Am I the only one who doesn't find Splenda that tasty?

Becareful of ALL artificial sweetners - they cause MANY health problems.
Do your research first!! Try Stevia it is all natural and safe.

My only experience with Splenda, as a pre-op, has been in trying the Fruit
H20 (fruit flavored water). Talk about the nasty aftertaste! I've never
been a fan of artifical sweeteners, since somewhere down the line we seem
to find out that they do something bad to us. And yes, I know Splenda is
allegedly different because it's real sugar. HOWEVER, it is sugar that has
been scientifically altered from its original form...removal of something I
can't remember exact wording I read in a health news article. According to
the article I read, a teaspoon of sugar has only 15 calories. So if I want
to add a teaspoon or 2 of sugar to my coffee or tea, I'll do so. I am just
not going to attempt ANY real sugar like this as a post-op until my tummy
is fully healed, maybe 3 months or so. I'm hoping I can minimize my use of
things with artificial sweeteners - and will definitely not be wasting my
money on Fruit H20 again! :) - Anna
