It is very difficult to give examples of questions. The questions tend to repeat itself but on a different level, if you know what I mean. Some of the questions are the same but are worded differently. The only problem I had with the testing is that it was tooooo long. It took me about a week to complete because i did it in sections.

The MMPI-2 is the most common psych test given. It basically asks you the same question several times. It is a yes/no, true/false question format. Based on your consistency in the answers, the psychologist is able to determine different states such as Hypochondriasis Depression Hysteria Psychopathic deviance Masculinity-femininity Paranoia Psychasthenia Schizophrenia Hypomania Social introversion Using this can guide the surgeon and your aftercare doctor in determining if you are mentally able to handle the mental trauma that comes with this type of surgical procedure. If you do a search for 'MMPI', you will come up with alot of links that can help you understand this test. I am quite interested in psychological tested as one of my majors was Psychology..*S* Hope this helps

Hey Robin: I did not have a prewritten test. I just visited with the psychologist about my life, my eating habits, why I wanted the surgery, etc. The day I went in, there were some very stressful things going on in my personal life and I was not myself. The psychologist was very kind and did not mention any of it in the report. She mainly focused on the food issures. It was not difficult. My cost was about $200 as I remember. I only paid for it because I wanted to move along the process and if I waited for insurance, I would have missed my first surgeon appt. I did not want to wait another 2-3 months. Good Luck.
