Question:
Can I dump from milk?
I had a terrible experience this morning and I am a little puzzled by it. I drank 1/2 c of milk and two squares of chocolate (sugar free) graham crackers. Just a few minutes later, my heart was racing, I was cold and clammy, sick and my stomach and nauseated. Does anyone know, could it have been the milk??? — kimberly1224 (posted on July 29, 2000)

Milk contains Lactose which is one of the most potent sugars around. Use
lactaid Milk. This should solve the problem.

You may be a lucky and be very sensitive to dumping. We are told to hold
to 6g of sugar (or less) per meal. But we are forbidden milk or sugar for
life. Milk has about 12g per glass, and how much sugar is in No Sugar
Added grahams? Don't know. Last time I looked at grahams, they scared me!
Just always check the label for sugar g. If you keep yourself to the 6g
(all foods total), you won't dump and your wt loss will be superior.
There's also sugar in the lactaid type products, as well, but I don't know
what the count is. Everything (pretty much) has sugar. Even the No Sugar
Added stuff. Just be careful! But it's GOOD that you dump! This will get
you best wt loss!

OH, YES! You can absolutely dump from milk. I had my one and only dumping
episode over a glass of milk, which I drank too fast. I thought I was going
to keel over. Racing heart, clammy, cold sweat, nausea, diarreah, the
works. I was curled up on the couch from 10 minutes after drinking the moo
juice to about 2 hours later. Most misery I ever experienced, except
perhaps for 14 hours of induced labor! :)

Kim, I am sorry hon you had this. Do you think that sugar effects YOU more
on an empty stomach? Just a thought.

Hi. I dump from sugar, fat or sugar and fat in combination. I suspect the
graham crackers in combination with the milk caused dumping. I also can
dump just if I drink whole milk. I can drink skim milk, or it is now
sometimes labeled fat free milk. LOL Beth.
