Question:
I am concerned, I am 10 wks post op and sometimes I can eat 8 ozs of food...
Is this normal? I am so scared that maybe I have stretched my pouch. I am still losing. 60 lbs so far and I am really pleased with my weight loss. But I am very worried. Is this too much????? — kimberly1224 (posted on June 26, 2000)

Kimberley, remember, 8 ozs chewed up is a lot less than 8 oz. I will be 5
months postop on 7/8, I can eat HUGE amounts of salad, about a teaspoon of
cereal, 2 teaspoons of hamburger, and I throw up all chicken, no matter how
small the amount. So don't worry, just don't force yourself beyond the
feeling of having had enough. I won't say the feeling of being full because
my body doesn't tell me I'm full until about half an hour after I finish
eating and then sometimes I'm too full and get sick--usually half an hour
to an hour after eating. Good luck.

It depends on the type of food you are eating. If you are eating meat or
heavy things they tend to take less to fill you up. If you are eating soups
or ice cream it goes through quicker and takes more to fill you up.
