Question:
What should I do before the surgery?
I have been approved by insurance for the gastric bypass revision from a vertical banded gastroplasty performed in 1985. I hope to hear a surgery date soon. I will be haveing surgery by Dr. John Kellum at the Medical College of Virginia. I am curious if it would be adviseable for me to start takeing vitamins or protien supplements etc. now before surgery? Does anyone have any advice of what I can do to prepare myself for surgery. Thank-you so much for any support you can give me. Sarah Brackett [email protected] — Sarah B. (posted on June 12, 2000)

Hi Sarah... Vitamins & exercise sure wouldn't hurt... Do you know about
the revisions mailing list on eGroups? I'm sure you could get a lot of
good info there... Just go to: <BR><a

Good luck to you!!

I have a list of tips and pre-op prep. If you are interested, I would be
glad to e-mail it to you (or anyone else). Just e-mail me and let me know!
