Question:
Are dizziness, confirmed hypoglucemia, irregular heart normal for 1985 surgery pts.?

I had "bilio pancreatic bypass" surgery in 1985. I am unable to contact the surgeon now. Aboutseven years ago, I began having obvious hypoglycemic episodes in the morning and had this diagnosis confirmed. For the last several months, I have felt dizzy and "that black out feeling" several times a day. Note that in the fifteen years since the surgery, I have had been severly anemic and my B 12 has been very low. I also have had hair loss and complete change it its texture. I currently go to a HMO PCP who is very casual about my complaints (and I am not a hypocondriac at all). Are these symptoms "normal"? Is there treatment? Norma... I sent your question to a friend of mine who had the standard BPD (without DS). I am certain she will be in touch with you soon. Meanwhile, if you just need to talk, email me.
