Does anyone have PacifiCare PCP in LA area who referred you to USC,

It's my understanding that Pacificare approves WLS and has since 1/1/00. I have it but am in Northern CA and had no problem whatsoever and neither has anyone else that I have heard of. As long as you meet the weight and BMI requirement, I would think you would not have any problem. My surgeon's office handled the whole thing.

Elaine, You might check to see if University Affiliates IPA is on your list of your HMO/PPO providers. Their physicions routinely refer people to Dr. Anthone and Dr. Crookes at USC. If your current pcp doesn't give you the referral you need, you might want to switch to another PCP until after surgery, then switch back. Best of luck!
