Question:
Long Term Results. To those who are 3 years plus post-op,how do you keep it off?

I am just interested to hear from people who have successfully kept their weight off for 3 years or more. Also, what are the chances of the stomach stretching? I have lost over 100 pounds and have nightmares of going back to the old me...    — [Anonymous] (posted on February 24, 2000)

5-1/2 yrs post op. Lots of protein supplement, no milk, no sugar, no grazing, no drinking with meals. And a handful of other little "tricks". My husband is 4-1/2 yrs post op. We are still at the ideal wt for our hts, no variation at all.

2 1/2 years post-0p. I hope you don't mind me answering. I realize a am not yet 3 years. What works for me is a totally honest daily food journal and never missing a day. I count calories and try to average 1800 to maintain my goal of 143. I eat whatever I want, but I just count it and plan ahead. If I don't just love it than I don't eat it. The biggest lesson I have learned is "you don't have to finish it". I allow myself 300 calories of chocolate every day (because it makes me happy) and works for me. It has taken me 46 years and major surgery to learn that each person has to find their own way to control and maintain. Mine might be unusual but it works for me. I eat about 8 times per day but only 150-300 calories at a time. That way I am never really starving and I feel like I am always eating, because I am. I realize this is not for everyone. But since it works for me than I am going to keep doing it. E-mail me anytime. [email protected]. Sincerely, Cheryl
