This has not personally happened to me, but I do know of a woman, (who was
on birth control at the time), got pregnant after 6 months of having WLS.
The rapid weight loss tends to make you more fertile. BUT, you need to
wait at least 18 months after having WLS to get pregnant. You will need
all the nutrients yourself at first to heal and become healthy. Becoming
pregnant too soon can cause problems for the baby...Good luck and I wish
you the best!

I had surgery in March 1998 and got pregnant (after trying for 4 years) in
November 1998 (8 months after surgery). I had lost about 100# at that
time. I gained 18# through the pregnancy and lost it a week after she was
born. I work for Bariatric Treatment Centers Corp. Office so I had the
advice of the surgeon through my pregnancy. Anyone getting pregnant will
always have their questions answered by the surgeon so please feel free to
contact him or her. He reassured me the proper vitamins to take and
referred me to an OB/GYN. I would follow up with the nutristionist as
needed but for the most part I made sure to eat lots of protein, drink LOTS
of water, and eat more frequently through out the day. It is recommended
you do wait at least 2 years but sometimes God has other plans. Good luck
and please feel free to contact me if you have other questions.

i can honestly say getting pregnant was a little too easy after surgery. i
am 4 mo post op and am pregnant. after about 80 lbs, my period started and
my body started working. after 100lbs, nothing happened....well, i guess
something did just not what i expected. just be careful. losing weight
makes it soo much easier for your homones and stuff to work. good luck
