If the CIB makes you sick, then you should definitely get your protein from
some other source. I was lactose intolerant even before my surgery. Milk
would give me diarrhea and terrible gas. I told my nutritionist this and
she said I can use the powdered protein supplements like Designer Protein
mixed with water, juice, or lactaid milk.
Hope this helps!

I began to hate the Carnation and Designer Protein so much that I began to
take the bottled red liquid protein. I can mix 3 TBS of the red liquid
with 1/4 cup of cold water and I am fine. It seems to be the best for me
to tolerate and the cherry taste with water is like a Koolaid.

I use a protein drink called HMR. It is lactose free with about
12 g protein when mixed with water. You can mix with lactose free
milk for added protein. It tastes good. You can order online or
check in your area for a Dr or weight loss program who sells it.
The website is www.drdiet.com/Products/hmr_shakes. Best of luck

YES! There are a number of better choices. There are a dozen good
proteins that will mix nicely with water or sugar free juices, such as s/f
Tang or Crystl Light or even flat diet pops. MANY of us become (or were)
lactose intolerant. No need to suffer. You can be getting in good protein
with not nearly so much sugar and other unpleasantries!
