Question:
What's up with getting esophogeal ulcers postop?

Hi, I'm 10 weeks postop. Most of the time I feel great... except when I eat. I have alot of trouble keeping anything but liquids down. I've had one endoscopy and will have another tomorrow. It seems I have a recurring ulcer which keeps blocking my esophogus. I'm tired of this! I thought the surgery was supposed to cure GERD but I keep having this problem. If someone can explain it to me I would be so grateful. I'm usually pretty upbeat and philosophical about everything but right now I am pretty gloomy. What do I need to be doing ? I was just curious...Did your doc require that you take something such as Pepcid,Zantac, etc. for the first 6 weeks post-op? This was a requirement with my doc. I have found such vast differences in the way docs instruct their patients in the post op weeks.
