Question:
Have any of you had pre-op lung problems? Did it delay surgery?

I'm scheduled for an open RNY on September 10. I had my pre-op testing last week. Today my surgeon called and said she saw a "density" (huh?) on my right lung and wants me to get a ct-scan to check it out. Has anyone had this happen? How did it turn out? Did it delay your surgery? I have everything figured out down to the nansecond --- childcare, work, etc --- and if my surgery is delayed it will really mess me up. On the other hand, I'd just as soon not stop breathing on the opeerating table either. Anyone with experience with this kind of thing? Please respond. Thanks! dear Ann, Please dont get alarmed it could be a fatty deposit small amt of fluid it is not necessarily a desease process problem it is always safer to have everything checked out before surgery
