I used one in the hospital. It is easier to get in and out of.

It was AWESOME!!! it basically turns into a chair with grab bars s you can
go from lying to sitting and then standing with little difficulty!!! i
went to the OR in it ...then to recovery ...the ICU...finally to the
floor!!! no embarassing transfers and i didn't need any help standing up
the first time....i wanted to take it home!!!

A bariatric bed will bring you to a standing position.

The bariatric bed will not only raise your head to a sitting position, the
bed can have the feet lowered all of the way to the floor so that you are
in a standing position with out all of the strain of a regular bed. They
are absolutly a must after wls surgery. A very wonderful invention.

Bariatric beds are BIG, STRONG, WIDE beds with electric motors
which boost up even LARGE patients into sitting position to help
them get out of bed and walk, which is mandatory, later in the
day, on the same day as the surgery.

it is a very sturdy bed, but I found the mattress to be too hard, it made
my backache.
