Question:
Can Coffeemate STOP Weight Loss??

Hi, I'm trying to lose my last 10 pounds and I'm trying everything!! i drink my water, exercise and stay away from carbs. I do however drink 1-2 pots of decaf coffee with coffeemate and splenda per day, could that keep me from losing???? thanks    — Kelly* P. (posted on August 26, 2005)

I too am a coffemate lover. I also have about 2 pots of decaf a day/night-i work nights. Believe it or not when i switched to decaf tea --plain or with splenda only, i managed to lose about 10-12 lbs over lent-- 6weeks. that was the only change i made during that time. i cant believe those calories were keeping me from losing but --who knows. anyway i am back to the decaf and coffemate and have not gained the weight back. I wish you good luck if you decide to abstain for a while.

Maybe you are sensitive to the chemical they use to take the caffeine out of coffee. I suggest you try not having coffee for a few weeks, and see if that helps. If not, go back to enjoying your coffee.

Interesting. I don't know. But I've been wanting to cut down on the artifical sugar use, so I've upped the cremoria by alot!

Try measuring how much coffeemate you use in a day, then check the calories, fat, sugar, etc. in that amount. You may be surprised at how much or how little you find.

I have been doing research on that very subject...I've noticed that since Christmas my weight loss has been at a stand still and I've realized the only thing I'm doing different is drinking more coffee and using sugar-free french vanilla creamer on a daily basis as well as those sugar free drink mix packs you put in a bottle of water. It was brought to my attention that too much artificial sweetener such as aspertame can create toxic levels in your body that can slow down your body's metabolism and ability to burn fat/calories and rid your body of oxidants etc. I've found this stuff in everything I eat! Yogurt, creamer, drink mixes...even gum. There is a lot of talk on the internet about ways to detoxify/cleanse your system of this stuff and I'm going to give it a try....anyone already done or thought of this? Give me a [email protected]

If you look at the ingredients in your creamer you'll notice that most of the dry creamers have corn syrup or some other sugar sub. in the ingredients even though it may show zero sugars on the nutritional values. I will be 7 weeks post-op tomorrow and have been know as the woman that has a little coffee with her cream. I found out that the creamer will cause diareah for me if I use too much. For example, 2 tsp. in a 12oz coffee is fine, but 4 tsp. in a large is a no, no for me. That may be your problem too. Just too much in a day. I'd try cutting back on it some & see if it will help. Good luck.
