Question:
my incision is leaking pretty good and I'm having alot lot of pain around incision

I was healing well at two weeks post op and foolishly did more than I should have, getting in and out of my SUV too many times I think I strained the muscles at least i hope thats all i did, and opened my incision It's leaking quite a bit and I feel as though I put myself back at least a week in the healing process. Ihave an appointment w/ my surgeon in three days. can I wait, or should i go to my local hospital ER    — Pauline C. (posted on November 14, 2004)

Please call your doctor's office, there's undoubtedly somebody on call, and ask them what you should do. Personally, I wouldn't wait three days. Let us know what happens, I'll be thinking of you.

I ended up having two superficial oppenings and an abscess had formed under the incision. Ihave visiting nurses come daily to flush and pack it.
