Question:
I am larger than last winter
I am bigger now than I was last winter and am trying very hard not to buy any clothes because I know I am having this surgery very soon. I just need some business dress clothes to bring me through until I have the surgery. Is there any one out there that has size 26-28 business dress clothes that they no longer need. I have been to my local thrift store and consignement shops and have been able to find a few things. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. What, specifically, are you looking for? Dresses, business suits, pant
outfits, etc? Also, tall, petite or average? I MIGHT have a few things.
I don't usually wear business clothes - mostly casual but if you will be a
little more specific I will see what I have and let you know. Jeanette

Hi Sharon
I have many pieces of business clothing in 26/28--pants, blouses, and
sweaters. Too many to mail. You are welcome to them if you want to come
visit my storage closet! I live in Ocean County-- email me if you're
interested.

try ebay, as I was losing weight I purchased 2nd hand clothing this way
very inexpensively. There is usually a very good supply on ebay.

The support group I go to has an occasional clothing swap. Perhaps yours
does?

Now that it's the end of the summer, I know a lot of clothing stores
(Fashion Bug for example) are having a huge sale on tank-tops. If you have
a nice sweater or cardigan, you can wear it practically everyday with a
different tank underneath. I found three tanktops for $2 each. Plus, after
losing weight, you can still wear them for night clothes, or exercising.
Just a thought.

sorry to say I just got gave away about 5 bags of clothing. You may want
to try a support group. Some have clothing exchanges. Also, Walmart has
very low price clothing. I picked up pants there because I was going down
so fast I didn't want to spend any more money than I already did.

Hi Sue, Well, I admire your proactive thinking about the steps needed to
be taken, after your surgery. Also, I really admire your thinking. Nobody
can insure your coming away from this huge step you're taking better than
you! Alas as to clothing etc.... I have one to contribute ( plus haven't
purchased any in so long I have no clue as to my size! lol) I don't posess
a shopping gene.! lol
But soon as I read your post... I thought Wow this could be the start or
basis of something that more people would use than the average person
could EVER dream. My mind is thinking the need for the clothing sizes you
spoke of and the lack of information..... = two things; one, A profit or
a excellent, 'not for profit' network/orgainization OR combo of both ...
Also could be statewide or national. totally web based or not. I have a
hunch this is much needed. Lets face it, the stereotype of a obese person
Does NOT include how many are in white collar positions or middle
management. Wardrobe is imperative. Oh gawd! I must stop myself right here
or I know I will just go on and on. I think you get my point.
But please make no mistake I admire you farsighted thinking I KNOW you
will enjoy the best that life has and that you decide to enjoy.
Best of Health to you,
Liz
