I started walking day of surgery and kept it up from that point until I had
foot surgery in April. I didn't start anything else until the doctor told
me it was okay to start.

Exercise initially consists of walking around your house or down the street
then you gradually build up the distance and effort. I would avoid
abdominal exercises until at least 2 months out or at least until your
surgeon OKs you for it.

I had my surgery on april 8th 4 weeks later I was in the gym in water
aerobic classes. Check with your doctor and listen to your body. Water
classes are great and don't put as much stress on your body. Also walking,
you should be walking at least 30 minutes a day at a good steady pace. Try
to increase your time every few days.

I did walking from day 1 in the hospital. After I came home I did
"Walk Away the Pounds." Then at my 3 month check up, the doc
cleared me to begin using weights to work on toning.
