Question:
What does it feel like?

I know this is kind of a stupid question, but what do you feel like after surgery? I know there is some pain and you get full quickly, but do you feel any different inside? After the pain, is feeling full the only thing that lets you know you had the surgery?    — jennifer S. (posted on April 25, 2004)

Other than the emotional changes in your head...physically you feel no different. You become used to the limited eating. So much so that you 'forget' that you are limiting yourself. Then you hit goal....and miss the volume..lol. But to answer your question...no.

To start with your insides will grumble a lot more than they do now. For the first 3 weeks post op my insides were quite noisy. They have settled down some now (I am 3 weeks post). Hubby, is 9 weeks post and his are still very noisy at times. It casues no discomfort, it is kinda funny. I feel no different than preop. Now I just eat a WHOLE LOT less, and the weight is comming off nicely.

I feel absolutely fabulous. I am down 53 lbs and have more energy than I've had in 20 years. WOW is all I can say, this is the life! Ann

So I guess my answer is a little different from everyone else's. The only time I feel different is when I am eating. I can "feel" my insides when I eat. I can tell you exactly where food is when it is going down. It used to be that I never knew where my food was, I just knew it was going to my stomach. It's actually an interesting feeling....I think everyone has a different experience after the surgery...good luck on yours and on your journey! If you ever need anything, feel free to email!

Well, I had my surgery 4 days ago, so Im still finding new things. I do have alot of rumbling going on in my tummy, but it doesnt hurt. I am a little sore, especially when getting up and down, but other than that don't even need the the pain medication. My brain hasn't adjusted to not having food, I dont feel so hungry as much as I crave every food I see, and being at home watching tv and all these commercials for food is driving me crazy. But I know it will take some time for my body and brain to get in sync. Id be glad to answer any other questions if you have any.
