Question:
Do I stop eating after a few bites if I feel food on my stomach???
I am 13.5 months post-op and still confused as to how long it should take me to eat. I think it took me about 10-15 minutes to eat my breakfast of scrambled eggs 1 whole egg mixed 1 egg white and then 1/4 cup plus one tablespoon of wilted kale. I began to feel food on my stomach after about 5 or 6 bites but I knew that if I stopped eating then I would be eating the same way I was when I was a 1 month post op-but often times I do get full off of just a few bites-Do others stop after just the few bites when u feel the food on your stomach-Like i did not feel satisfied after eating the bites just that food was on my stomach now that it is all gone I feel satisfied and not stuffed-Am I doing this food thing right at 13.5 months post-op -I'm down 148-Thanks tori — TotallyTori (posted on April 19, 2004)

That's a very good question, I am 2 years and almost 2 months post-op and
I still look at foods thinking I can eat that amount, but then when I sit
down to eat , I get full after maybe 5 to 6 bites lik you said you do, I do
stop when I start feeling full, I've heard on the board tht is a big thing,
STOP AS SOON AS THE FULL FEELING STARTS!!!I have found it's easier to
measure my food portions first, then I know I won't over eat!!! I also eat
from a very small saucer
sounds like your doing great!!! keep up the good work!!! valita/dizzy one

I usually stop because there's nowhere for it to go. sometimes I'll wait
15 minutes and try again if I am low on protein for the day.
