Question:
trying to come up with the money to self pay

After being turned down I have decided to try and get a loan or do anything else I can to come up with the money to self pay. I know it will be long but have decided to sell some clothes (mostly never worn) on ebay. My name there is lost_cali_girl. All of you that havent had the surgery yet but are clothes hounds like me take a look Please and help a WLS hopeful out huh? Please post some other good ideas to get surgery.    — shawna M. Hey Shawna! Good for you for going to bat for yourself! I'm proud of you! Now - that being said, let me also say that I'm a self-pay patient, too, and I'm happy to answer any questions you might have. Have you thought about having the Lapband? It is cheaper than the ryn and some drs. let you go home that day (which makes it even cheaper.) others release you the next day. I had the Lapband on 11-13-03 and have lost -41 so far. It is slower but for personal reasons it was the right choice for me. I used Dr. Van Wagner in St. Louis Mo. his # is 314-776-7112. I stayed overnight. But there is a dr. in Memphis, Tenn. who sends you home a few hours later. ( Dr. Woodman) Good luck. Mary

Here is a place that obesityhelp.com advertised last week to get a loan to help pay. www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/finance-services.phtml It is very easy to get approval and you do it all online. BTW, have you considered going to Mexico. That Dr Axquirre down there is very good and trained in the US. Go to the South of the Border forum on here. You will find a lot about him. He only does open. His rates are 8,500. That includes all the medical stuff. Your hotel and plane fare is separate but he gets cheap rates at a nice local hotel next to the hospital and his driver meets you at the airport and takes you everywhere you need to go. Click on "loving life" profile and see pictures and read of her experience. Also Latrisha Nickle or Nickel has a lot on her profile as well.
