Question:
DOES CAFFEINE TAKE AWAY NUTRITION FROM YOUR BODY?
Hello, I was wondering if caffeine can take away nutrition in the body? I have been tired lately and I had bloodwork done and everything was fine. I drink one Diet Pepsi Slurpee everyday and was wondering if the caffeine could have something to do with it. I do drink coffeee, but ONLY DECAF. I take ONE CENTRUM DAILY a 500mg. of CALCIUM 2-3 times a day.(I SHOOT FOR 3) Any thoughts on this? THANKS. Kelly* — Kelly* P. (posted on February 3, 2004)

How often do you take iron and B12? Those are 2 of the vitamins/minerals
that if we're lacking, can make us tired.

I've been doing a lot of reding on caffeine, since I am, I'll confess, a
caffeine addict. For every site I find condemming caffeine, I find a second
one praising it. The only thing I've found a definitive asnwer to, so far,
is that caffeine DOES leach calcium from the body---at the rate of 5mg of
calcium per cup of coffee. To replace that much caffeine you need two
teaspoons of milk or yogurt. So I think I'll just take an extra calcium
tablet and keep on drinkin' my tea!
