HI fellow pittsburger! First its NOT your fault about your VBG failure. My
surgeon Dr Schauer specializes in revisions from VBG to RNY. He says the 5
year faiulure rate for the VBG is 80%. He does these revisions LAP and the
folks do fine and loose well! You always welcome at schauers meetings the
first wednesday of each month at 7PM at montefiore right next to Presby.
You dont have to be a patient to attend. Februarys mneeting lets just say I
have a couple surprises! But it will be my 3 year anniversary attending
them! Although I am about 2.5 years out. Theres also the pittsburgh yahoo
group:) They have meetings pot lucks and shopping and other fun stuff! With
Pittsburgh as medical leader theres a lot of activity. Please attend some
of this and say hi, you will be warmly welcomed!
<P> My VBG failure rate reference just reports what my surgeon says.
Certinally all surgeries have failures but she needs to know its noit her
fault!

Hi Alison,
I have several friends who have had conversion surgeries from VBG - but not
to RNY, to DS. I could certainly put you in touch with them if you'd like.
Feel free to email me, okay?
Blessings,
dina
