Question:
I've got a hernia on my incision from open RNY (07/24/03). As my
weight goes down, the hernia is alot more visible. My surgeon noticed it first and said when I get closer to goal she will fix it. Should I be taking special care because of this, meaning no lifting and such? It doesn't hurt or bother me other then to stick out. Will it get worse???? Thanks all in advance! — Sheryl Y. I had surgery on 8-11-03 and I, too, have an incisional hernia. My surgeon
told me to wear the binder I received when I had my surgery and to not lift
anything very heavy. I don't want to have surgery until I am a lot closer
to goal but my doctor says it could be sooner if it becomes more
symptomatic. I would talk to your surgeon and ask what he/she recommends
you do at this point. Good luck!

Got one too. Hermie's story is in my profile. I'm very careful and am
trying to wait it out until I'm 18 mos post op which will be June to have
it fixed. I just look pregnant and once I do have the repair and TT it
will make such a difference in my apperance, I'll get compliments all over
again.
