Question:
I have very large boobs, will I lose them??
I am still waiting on insurance approval, but I was wondering, I have very large breast right now, always have been a busty person, will I lose them, or will they stay pretty much around? I have lost weight off and on in the past and I have lost as much as 50 lbs and never went down in the boobs. I never changed bra sizes, just didn't have the "3rd" boob in the middle. Has anyone else experienced this? — teedegee (posted on November 16, 2003)

Hey Girl, I wore a 44 D and should have been a DD before surgery, now I
wear a 36C and oh how I love it!! I still have plenty of boobs..Good luck
with your surgery. I know its the best decision I ever made for myself.

I have always wanted a breast reduction, was a 48DDD. After surgery they
headed south and deflated. I was then a 36DD. I had a lift and they are now
a perky 36DD. I'm so glad I didn't get a reduction back then.

I was always busty a 38D at 135lbs. When I had my surgery I was a very very
full 44DD. I am now a very soft 36C. In all the time that I had lost weight
before I never lost my boobs. I was sure that I wouldnt. I have lost 100
lbs so far.<p>
My sister was never busty when she was thin. She gained boobs as she gained
weight. She had rny 11/00 and has lost about 130lbs. She did not lose her
boobs. She is still very busty. So my answer is no two people are teh same.
Some will lose their boobs soem will not. I jsut wanted to point out even
with the same genetic makeup, we had different results.

I was a full 40D at the time of my surgery and now, 105 pounds later, I
have only gone down to a 38D. I have a lot of flesh under my arms which
hangs over the sides of my bras, so I tend to wear those that are full
cupped. I have a feeling that if I went for a fitting at a corsetry store
I might go to a 38C or a 36D. They are however, deflated. I am not all
that upset about it. My extra abdominal skin is far more bothersome.

Teena,
I weighed 365 lbs with a BMI of 64 when I had my surgery. I wore a size
56F bra. Yes, I had VERY large boobs. Today - 16 months later - 183 lbs
less of me, I wear a size 36C bra. AMAZING! I would never have believed
it if I didn't see it every day! Everyone is different tho - some of us
totally lose all of our boobs, others don't. The cool thing, tho, is
watching this amazing transformation of our bodies!
Blessings,
dina

I started out at almost 292 wearing a 46DD which to me was hidiously large.
I was hoping to lose down to a B or C. So far I am at 183 and still in a
38D... still too big for my preference, because when I do my cardio work
out, my bra straps hurt me. As far as looks go, in my clothes I get lots
of compliments on my proportionate figure. Naked, they aren't toooo
terrible but I would like to get a reduction just so I won't hurt when I
exercise and they won't go south too bad. The truth is... some women lose
everything up top and end up getting breast implants even after having very
large breasts. Then others of us never lose them at all. I hope this
helps some.

At 265 I wore a 40DD, at 130 I wear a 34C. When I was thin in my younger
days I wore a C, so I think that is just my standard boobs. This sort of
thing varies in everyone, you will never know until you get to goal.

Teena,
My surgeon's exact words, when I asked, were that they would
become..."pathetically pendulous." So, we'll get 'em picked back
up! I can't wait for the day that they are getting in the way of the active
lifestyle we will have when no longer carrying around all this extra
weight! Good Luck!

Oh my oh my...how I thought I'd never lose in the chest area. I had/have a
lot of flesh around my chest and am one of those that hate to see overhang
on the sides of bras. I wear a wider bra to help support that area which
means I still have to have at least 3 or 4 snaps (not very sexy, eh?). In
the past month or two though I've noticed that my breasts have really
changed. It almost looks like someone chopped off the very front & just
reattached the nipple...they are full closer to the body (although saggy),
but FLAT at the outer part - nipple area. It is odd looking to me but
easily masqueraded with good bras. What I look like naked bothers me, but
not enough to regret surgery. Down 92 in 6 months, I'm giving my body
plenty of time to adjust before I do the plastic surgery stuff.
Good luck!

Hi! Before WLS, I wore a 46II (always big busted), and didn't lose any of
the "bust" portion until after the 100lb mark (seemed like).
When I reached goal, I was wearing a 36G...a very flat, very LOOONNGGG
36G...I had a breast reduction 6 1/2 months ago and I'm now a very nice
36C. I LOVE IT!! Good luck! Denise 316/157

I was a 44DD before surgery 3 mos ago. I have lost 79 pounds, and while I
have lost 5" around in my chest, I have not yet lost a cup size,
although they have headed south! Boob lift, here I come!

Depends upon your genetic structure and how you store your weight. Pre-op
I was a 50 DD and post-op, I'm a 40DD, so I haven't lost any in the cup
size.

Hi there, My boobs were the first to go. I went from a 38DD to now a 34B.
They are not at all saggy though and actually match my body pretty well
(i'm a size 4/6 now compared to a 24). I think it just depends on your
genetics. Look at your mom or grandma. Good luck!

i all my life had been large chested, not in the h,i,j catagory but big
enough.at the time of surgery i was a very full 46DD. even in the past when
i had lost over 50lbs my cup size never changed. now 130lbs lighter with
about 45lbs to go to goal i am sad to report that i have gone down to a
42C. they are no longer full and suppel, kinda deflated like. i don't mind
loosing the band size but have gotten used to my whole life being in the D
department. if/when i have all the reconstructive surgery i need/want i
plan to have implants to at least DD again if not bigger. sounds strange
but after having a large bust all my life i miss them and my husband teases
me, walks around calling me C cup i hate it. best luck to you. kimberly
