Do you already have the surgery scheduled or are you just looking into it.
You can correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that you
have to have a BMI of atleast 40, be at least a 100 lbs overweight and have
comorbitities. From your profile, your BMI is 35. As for your question,
you could lose like everyone else, but it might slow down sooner than most.

my bmi was also in the lower range 37 (i believe) and I have not lost a
huge amount. Had mine on august 20th and I have lost 43 pounds with about
four weeks where I have not lost at all. I weighted 220 and down to 173.
Might be slow but i feel great and am very happy with it

You do not necessarily have to have both a bmi over 40 and also be 100
pounds overweight. Most insurance look strictly at the bmi. The 100 lb rule
is outdated as it is one thing for a person who is 6'2" and quite
another for someone who is 5'2". And you can get approved with a bmi
of 35-39 with comorbidities. That being said, yes, lightweights tend to
lose more slowly, but they are more likely to make it to goal.
