Question:
Sleep apnea symptoms
I haven't had my sleep test yet, so I don't know if I have it. But I'm having a strange, sleep-related problem. When I sleep on my left side (which I usually do), just as I 'm almost asleep, I get a sharp pain in my tongue! It's enough to wake me up. It's almost like I've bitten it (and I HAVE, a few times) but it hurts all the way back to the root of the tongue. Anyone ever had anything like this happen? And if so, did it go away after weight loss? — MsBatt (posted on October 20, 2003)

hi i have sleep apnea and i wear the cpap mask every night and i have never
had the symptoms that you are describing, the symptoms of sleep apnea are
... you stop breathing, you are not rested up in the morning to the point
that you drift off to sleep while you are driving or working or just
sitting, you have no energy to do anything you are completely exhausted, i
have lost 102 pounds and i am 6 months post op and i still have sleep
apnea, hopefully once i get to my goal i won't have to where my cpap mask
again, the only way you can tell if you have sleep apnea is you have to
have a sleep study done and if you do have it then you have to have a 2nd
sleep study done to determine what mask is right for you and at what
pressure your cpap machine needs to be set at.......good luck kim
