I had my GB taken out on a Friday and was out on the lake on Sunday. I was
sore but I later realized that MAKING myself MOVE was what helped me get
over it. I had my GB removed LAP.

GB surgery these days is about like having a tooth pulled... it's no big
deal at all. I had mine on a thursday and was at church on sunday and back
at work on monday. I felt great except for all the gas they blew me up
with.

My gallbladder removal was a breeze. I went into the hospital at 6:00 am
on a Friday, had it laparoscopically, was home by 6:00 pm (after an hour
drive home, of course I didn't drive myself!!), and was back to work on
Monday. (I have a desk job). Not much pain, quick recovery, and minimal
scaring. It was pretty easy! (Thankfully!!!)

I'm still holding on to mine but my friend had hers out and it was a breeze
according to her and she felt so much better after - 100% that she didn't
mind the little discomfort she had post op. She went back to work in a
week. GOOD LUCK! HUGS, HUGS, and more HUGS!

I had my Lap gallbladder removal 4 months after my Open RNY. I was out 4
weeks but not because of the pain. The pain was almost non-existent,
except when I stretched or yawned. But having 2 surgeries so close
together was very hard on my body and I was extremely tired all the time.
I also experienced a lot of dizziness and light-headedness. Even after
returning to work, I was very tired. I am still trying to get my energy
level back up.

I went to the hospital on 9-12-03 (FRI) because of stomach pains and was
admitted to the hospital because I had pancreatitis. I had to stay in the
hospital until my pancreatitis subsided then they could remove my
gallbladder. My gallbladder was removed on 9-15-03 (MON) and I was released
from the hospital on 9-17-03 (WED). I was supposed to be released on
Tuesday but a few of my blood tests came back a little high and had to stay
another night in the hospital. I had my gallbladder removed lap. I had
little pain, or at least less than I expected. I work in an moderately
active office job and I am cleared to go back to work on 9-25-03 (THUR). So
I will miss a total of 2 weeks of work, but thanks to STD I am covered
100%. Good Luck to you.
