anyone have a list of full liquids?
hi im having surgery in a few days and im going to be on full liquids for 3 weeks...anyone have a list of whats considered full liquids?? I know the doc will probably give me one at pre-op but im going shopping tomorrow and want to know what i need to pick up thanks so much...u can also email me...love Amy — cinamoni (posted on September 6, 2003)

Please be careful of strained soups and ice cream. Many surgeons do not
want you to eat/drink MILK products prior to surgery. Definitely check
with your surgeon. Each surgeon is different in what they request.

I agree with the others. I was also allowed Cream of Wheat (NOT oatmel,
though). Make sure to run all of your soups through a strainer, even a
teeny tiny piece of something can get caught in your newly swollen pouch.
The tube leading out of the pouch is about the size of the hole in a
toothpaste tube - that's small and imagine if it is swolen with new
stitches. Stick to your surgeon's/nutritioist's orders and you'll be fine.
Those S/F popsicles were my big treat - cheered me up if I was blue.
